MAYA CULTURE

In May 2014, I travelled to Mexico to document the ancient Maya Culture for my book Street Messages. My aim was to photograph the Maya glyphs on public buildings, altars, stelas or doors.

After visiting several places in Yucatan, I had no success and only found smaller examples of the written history of the Maya. Finally nearby Uxmal I found what I was eagerly looking for. To see these places was a truely amazing experience and I hope to come back one day.
